Being an Employee Is Riskier than Ever Now!

Well Yes, I feel being an employee is the biggest risk for all the people working in the corporate sectors!

Lets get into the root of the problem, why I felt like that:

Last I joined a company in 02nd March 2020, right at 23rd March 2020 lock-down was announced in India! After lock-down the situation started getting worse as people was not able to commute to their offices, some of the companies has lay off the employees at massive scale in order to secure its revenue for the future instability!

Still a lot of IT companies had the advantage of having their employees to work at their own house, or work from home! Many companies closed in between the time, then companies started deduction in the salary till the lock-down ends!

Once the lock-down opened in July 2020, there was flood of people who lost their job and now struggling in the market to resettle their life on the stable financial track!

Unemployment rate in urban areas rose to 20.9% during the April-June quarter of 2020 and it was the double the unemployment rate in the same quarter of the previous year! Seeing all those struggle in the market employers got a chance to hire people in cost-efficient or in low price as well, as people was there to work in less payout due to not having job and ill financial condition.

So What Economy says :

When the Supply is high in the market and Demand is less, than that particular thing becomes cheaper or cost effective!

So lets assume the product was here the employee, and there was a lot of employees, who were jobless wanted to land a job, so employers started hiring them paying less! Made the Most of the Opportunity!

but situation went worse when few people started production of employees at the large scale, to understand this lets go to the next phase!

Lock-down was Boon to few and also a Bane to Few as well

When in lock-down a lot of companies started suffering, then there was few company and institutions who was making a lot of money, they were doing good financially?

Who they were?

There were a lot of people but to name a few, who made the situation more bad is institutes who started there online learning program and started selling at low price, during lock-down a lot of people took the courses and till the end of the lock-down they were trained to test in to the market.

So these institutes has pumped more desperate people into the group of people who were already out there to land a job! Hence it can be seen supply of employees or the unemployed people was made high by these institutions and here in India, a lot of Institute for the sake of earning enroll people showing them lot of modules or stuff to read and once people enroll in to their learning program, they launch them to land a job only teaching them the basic skill!

Now if people are there learning new things and after acquiring new skill, they looking for new job, not a bad thing!

But You need to be Cautious off!

But here what you need to cautious off, people are lot more smart now you need to upgrade you skill enough that you could always be a precious asset to your organization!

As you age more, you slowly become lazy, become more secure, less active while the other generation working mid night oil to land a job, they have different set of skill!

They are multi-tasking, tech-savy generation having high intellectual capabilities to replace!

A Shocking Conversation with a Director

A few days back, I was having a conversation with a Self-Entrepreneur in Marketing Industry! He age more than 50, he called me for some of his project to discuss something, and in-between the conversation he asked me:

What’s your age?

I replied its 25! He said so you have enough time! I was wondering why he is saying so, what he is talking about?

I couldn’t stop myself asking him what you are talking about? He replied “Once you are older than 30, there is always someone, smarter, better and cheaper than you!”

So always upgrading your skill so that you could never be replaceable!

I kept on thinking how much insecure I can be, Well Dude, No matter how smart you are, there is always smarter than you! So I would better suggest you to create a system of your own rather than working in the system of someone, Here how hard you work you will always be replaceable!

So Build your own Asset! Don’t end up being asset for being someone till your last breath!

So Build your Career, Not your Resume!
